HOW RECYCLING HELPS OUR ENVIRONMENT

Curbside collection has become commonplace in communities all across America. As a result, millions of tons of Recyclables have been diverted from landfills and made in to reusable products.

DID YOU KNOW...

  • More than 50% of the materials in your garbage are recyclable.
  • In Washington State, residents generated more than five million tons of solid waste in one year. Enough to cover four lanes of I-90 about six feet deep from Seattle to Spokane!
  • Altogether, Americans throw out 160 million tons of garbage each year, enough to bury 27,000 football fields in a layer of garbage 20 feet deep.
